Credit system

The RARZI uses academic credit system prescribed by the Law on Institutions of Higher Education in force in the Republic of Latvia.

The academic credit system in Latvia envisages that during an academic year a full-time student can be awarded with 40 credits. The official ratio between national credits and ECTS is 1:1.5.

Number of credits awarded for traineeships is determined in accordance with the Law on Institutions of Higher Education, namely, 1 national credit (1.5 ECTS) is awarded for one week of traineeship.

Courses completed during mobility period are assessed on the basis of content of the course, and respective credits are included in the total number of credits awarded for the degree programme

The RARZI uses the ten-point grading scale in the assessment of academic achievements; academic achievements attained during mobility period are graded in accordance with the description of each point.
